Day 356 of 365: Sheri
We are having a family reunion this weekend at the lake. I look forward to this every year- so great to catch up with my crazy, loud Italian family.
While we were chatting, one of my cousins told me about her childhood friend who recently passed away. She died of lung cancer at 34 years old- a non-smoking, former division 1 college swimmer in the prime of her life. She was the mother of a 10 month old baby girl. She was someone who, by most standards, she did everything “right.” Such a tragic story.
I can’t stop thinking about it- the woman, her husband, her baby girl, her parents… how fragile life is. Tonight, I hugged my guys extra tight and going forward, I’m going to try to live in the moment a bit more…because it’s true that you just never know.
